Roleplay Guide Compilation
The following is a list of compiled guides that explain the various things you can do to engage in RP in Cyberpunk 2080.
Character Progression
Character progression works by Roleplay Confirmation, Reputation, and Belongings. You can read more about it here!
Finding Roleplay
Head on down to #roleplay-requests to see who is offering, or to offer your own roleplay. Once you do, @ them in #roleplay-discussion and see if they are available!
Remember: It's encouraged that you see find someone who is already offering RP and take up their offer before posting your own! If everybody simply posted their own offers without taking up others on theirs, nobody would find any RP!
Character Death
In the City of Dreams, death is just around every corner. Your character has some protection to stop a sudden bullet from ending them, but it only goes so far!
Find out how character death works in our guide, Character Death in Cyberpunk 2080.
Gigs
Gigs are your quests in Cyberpunk. Fixers and Corpos are always looking for skilled individuals (or at least bodies) to do risky, often dangerous work for them, and keep it under wraps. This is where you can create group RP oriented towards a goal, as well as making potentially big changes to Night City.
Participating in Gigs: See if Gigs are available in #gig-net
Making/Running Gigs: Anyone can make and run a gig in Cyberpunk 2080. The following guide explains how to make and run gigs here!
GM Requests
GM Requests are for those who want to run an RP scene where it is just their character (and potentially others), in which you need a GM. Alternatively, anyone can GM an RP scene. If you GM someone's RP, you receive rewards that can be given to any of your characters! Finally, staff will also post requests where they look for a GM to RP with someone - usually as a setting faction. You can find details on Character Events here: How GM Requests Work
Safe Combat Roleplay
Want to roleplay combat between characters who are friends? Or maybe settle a competition of egos without killing one another? Check the pin out in Unreal Tournament for virtual Deep Dive immersion combat: #unreal-tournament
Casual In-Character Public Chatting/Roleplay
Your character can talk over the #community-irc if they want to casually talk with other characters (for better or worse). Careful what you say online!
If you want to make things a bit more real, head to #the-end-of-the-line to share a drink with a stranger, friend, or even an enemy. Bar fights aren't advised. Patrons are encouraged to help end the conflict, quickly.
Finally, if your character is more established, with at least a Reputation of 3, they are permitted into the Afterlife, which you can find here at #the-afterlife.
Of course, you won't be truly respected at the Afterlife until you're a bonafide Edgerunner at Reputation 5.
